week #04 – @blumenberg / Yoram

Who are you and where do you come from?
My name is Yoram Blumenberg and I am a freelance art director, designer and consultant for print and online communication. Additionally I work part-time as an UI/UX expert for an IT company. I’m born and raised here where I still live: in Berlin, Germany.

Share your twitter account with us and tell us what you are twittering about:
I’m tweeting under @blumenberg about everything worth some 140 characters: music, movies, monsters and macs … but sometimes I just react to tweets from others out there or spice up my followers stream w/ foodporn or links to posts at my journal.

Tell us about your creative side:
I started around 1992 as a graphic designer coming from the world of photography and still today, pushing pixels and bending vectors with joy and fieriness.
But besides the obvious, design and photography, I’m a passionate chef/cook.

What inspires you?
Music, movies and tv shows, comics, reading … and going on photo safari hunting urban and/or contemporary details to file them into «The Archive of Things» — or fast food like into my Instagram.

Time travel: Where would you go to?
New York 1920, watching the Marx Brothers live … or somewhere in the US in the 1950ies experiencing the birth of Rock’n’Roll.

Name your favorite present book:
It’s not an easy question … let’s go w/ some categories …

… non-fiction: «The Icon Handbook» by Jon Hicks
… fiction: «City Come A Walkin’» by John Shirley
… graphic novel: «The Contract With God Trilogy» by Will Eisner

Which tweeter would you recommend for @createandrotate and why?
It would be Michael Heilemann @heilemann, because every tweet he writes is worth reading … and for his short description on twitter: «Half machine, half grapefruit […]»
