Who are you and where do you come from?
I’m Alan Dalby, an Illustrator from Manchester, England. I was born in the city of York but moved to Manchester to study and never left.

Share your twitter account with us and tell us what you are twittering about:
My twitter account is @alandalby. I tweet about what I’m working on, places I’m visiting and other artists work that I like. I also use it to promote places you can buy my work.

Tell us about your creative side:
I currently work from a studio in my home but I’m hoping to move into a communal space very shortly.
My work is mainly digital but I use hand-drawn elements in my work for textures and the like.
Alongside my paid work, I like to create work just for the fun of it and an animal project has spun out of that.
Out of the project I’ve developed a few designs into jewellery and cards that you can buy from my online shop.

My shop: http://platypus.bigcartel.com/

What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the animal kingdom, museums, art and design.
We have a fantastic design community in Manchester, and the work produced as well as the many events held here are really inspiring.

Time travel: Where would you go to?
There are too many places in time I’d like to see. I think I’d like to go see the pyramids being build. That would be amazing.

Name your favorite present book:
It’s always the last book I read. Which at the moment is ‚A Song of ice and fire.‘

Which tweeter would you recommend for @createandrotate and why?
I’d recommend @ArtVCancer for @createandrotate.
Particularly for the week of the 30th August when @ArtVCancer is hosting an exhibition instilled ‚Bending Time & Space‘.
Will definitely be an exciting exhibition with loads of great artists raising money for a good cause.
